In honor of the impending second year of existence, Grip Of Delusion Radio (the most monkey friendly Sludge, Stoner, Doom station around) is getting ready  to start it’s next wave of awesomeness-ness by collecting tracks for the second compilation! This compilation will be a FREE download highlighting the bands that make Grip Of Delusion Radio the cool place it is today. The theme this year is a secret until 1st April 2013, when we will launch our new site and features. As you remember, the theme of last year’s compilation was the Book of Revelations (link).  I will tell you that Mr. W. Ralph Walters is the mastermind behind the art again!

**If you want your band to be a part of this compilation, here is
what you need to do. Send a high quality(320kbps preferred) ,
properly tagged MP3 that is a MAXIMUM of ten minutes long to:

Please put the words “compilation submission” in the heading,
and also include the following information:
Band Name, Song Title, Album Title and a webpage where you can
be reached by the fans.

By sending in a track you agree to have it made available for free download.

Sending in a track does not guarantee your band is getting on the compilation.

DIG THIS! New collaboration between the band Compel and Dee Calhoun! Rumor has it that the only place you can hear it in rotation is Grip of Delusion Radio! But, we aren’t just going to throw this into the rotation just yet, we have a few plans first!

Grip of Delusion Radio is always looking for something. Currently, we are looking for music, commercials(audio and video), official band music videos, more podcasters, a staff writer(reviews/interviews), a live DJ for an exclusive show, a video show host, artists, a spokesperson, somebody good with websites.

I work with a lot of excellent folks, but they have their own projects, so I am trying to get some people in house to make this a destination. If you are interested in any of these things and have the time, then please contact Gary here or at GripODR@gmail.com

This is the time of the year where, everyone produces a list of their favorite music of 2012. I was asked by a couple of blogs about mine and due to working and being ill, I didn’t get a chance to send one in. Since, I was first asked, I had been thinking about my list.

The truth is 2012 was such a fantastic year for the music we play here at Grip Of Delusion Radio that I won’t even bother trying to whittle through the list. I have been buried in tunes to try and get added to the station from all of the great bands around the world this year.

Instead of thanking the bands for doing what they do, I have to really thank our listeners! Internet radio is a difficult realm to develop a following. Anyone can create an internet station these days and like myself, they put what they can into it without a budget and no probability of making a penny. Which to be completely honest is perfectly fine by me since this is something I do for the love of music and not a profit.

The real grind of this business is getting people to tune in. Much of my available time is spent waving my arms and shooting flares and screaming “Listen here, listen here!”. The reward is looking out there and seeing YOU, the listener choosing us over the literal thousands of stations out there! Imagine the world as a giant record store and you chose Grip Of Delusion Radio as the one compilation album you will use your money on.                 I think that is pretty bad ass!

So, from the bottom of my hard drives, I want to thank you folks out there, that choose Grip Of Delusion Radio for your streaming sludge, stoner and doom needs despite the hiccups and less than professional manner of it’s owner. Onward and upwards in 2013!
